Origami Heaven
Redefining traditional folding handcraft
Jule Waibel is a German product designer based in London UK. During her MA thesis at the RCA themed “minimum & maximum” , she was experimenting with different folding techniques and materials to find a unique language of expanding and contracting designs.
Her result was based on a traditional origami folding technique called “water bomb” * which inspired her to design sound dampening walls, interior elements, furniture and fashion creations. The finished thesis got attention from Bershka resulting in a cooperation project for all their Flagship stores worldwide.
At the same time this project marked the start of Jule Waibels entrepreneurship continuing with interior and fashion designs for SWAROVSKI and Moroso.
